GK GO has been awarded with the renowned Paris Retail Award for providing the best ‘Agile Customer Journey’, one of the award's main categories, on September 21, 2022. An independent jury of eight mentors acknowledged GK’s cloud solution particularly for its capability of delivering promising results for retailers in the fields of scan- and frictionless shopping as well as mobile POS.

GK Confirms Leading Position in New POS Installations in the Retail Sector and achieves the top position worldwide for new POS software installations in food retailing

GK is is the second largest provider of new POS software worldwide in the study period July 2023 to June 2024 and measured by all new installations in eight industries analyzed. GK delivers 8% of new installations in the global retail market. In terms of new POS software installations in the food retail sector, GK takes first place with 15% of installations worldwide, and has done so for the sixth year in a row. The firm analyzed the installation figures of more than 140 POS software providers in 48 countries. Only projects with more than 1,000 POS systems were taken into account.
GK's core markets are primarily Europe, where the company is the second-largest provider, accounting for 19% of all new POS software installations in the region, as well as the USA, where GK implemented a similar share in the food retail sector. However, strong growth in the Middle East and Africa region also contributed to GK's good performance. Here, GK achieved 50% of new installations, particularly through its South African customer Shoprite.
GK's results show that both new customer business and the expansion of systems for existing customers are progressing optimally and projects are being completed quickly. Michael Scheibner, CEO of GK Software: "In 2024, GK was able to roll out a large number of POS projects worldwide, e.g. with new customers, and grow in existing customer projects, thus further expanding its strong market position. GK is number one in Europe for new retail POS installations according to the RBR Global POS Software Study 2023.
For the fifth year in a row, GK is the number one POS software installer in the retail sector worldwide. According to the Global POS Software 2023 study published by the British analyst group RBR Data Service, GK once again defended its top position in this area (study period: June 2022 to June 2023). The analysts evaluated the market shares of over 120 POS software providers in the 48 most important countries.
Globally, GK ranks fourth in terms of total POS installations, moving up one place compared to the previous year. During the period under review, customers worldwide were able to go live with over 25,000 new installations in more than 2,000 stores using GK solutions. These included large retail chains, food retailers, petrol stations and convenience stores. Growth in the USA was particularly strong. GK was able to realize around five percent of all new installations in the world's largest retail market. In the grocery sector, one in four new point of sale installations came from GK (26%).
GK is the market leader for total POS installations in both Germany and Eastern Europe. GK is therefore the global leader in omnichannel solutions for food retail and has experience in many retail sectors. More than 570,000 installations worldwide speak for themselves.
