GK Software SE is focusing even stronger on the internationalization of its solutions and is selling Deutsche Fiskal as a result. Deutsche Fiskal will remain in the GK Software portfolio as an important partner solution
With the sale of Deutsche Fiskal, GK Software SE continues to pursue the internationalization of its solutions, which it began two years ago. As part of this process, the portfolio has been streamlined and geared even more strongly towards the internationalization of the solutions offered. This also means that, in the future, local fiscalization requirements, as in all other countries, will be implemented exclusively through partner solutions. In line with this strategy, Deutsche Fiskal will continue to be an integral part of the portfolio as a partner solution in the future.
The international applicability of the CLOUD4RETAIL platform, in addition to its state-of-the-art technology and comprehensive range of functions, is one of GK's key USPs. The platform is already successfully deployed in around 65 countries, including over 25 fiscal countries. The development of an own fiscalization solution was particularly due to the complexity of the topic in Germany, the time pressure for implementation and the large number of GK customers who wanted a cloud solution. Since the topic of fiscalization in Germany has now been technically resolved, GK has decided to sell Deutsche Fiskal and to keep it in its portfolio as a strong partner solution. In the future, GK will therefore handle fiscalization in Germany in the same way as in all other fiscal countries. This means that the respective locally approved solutions will be integrated exclusively via the internationalization framework of CLOUD4RETAIL.
With the sale of Deutsche Fiskal to fiskaly GmbH, GK is laying the foundation for the continuation of the successful business operations in a larger context. As part of the transaction, the employees of Deutsche Fiskal will be taken over by the acquirer. The previous Managing Directors Matthias Robeck and Michael Scheibner will leave the company. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transfer of ownership is scheduled for March 31, 2025. Deutsche Fiskal will continue to operate under the same structure under the new ownership and provide its services at the same high level of quality.
Martin Breidenbach, previously Vice President Development and Cloud Operations at Deutsche Fiskal, is to take over the management of the company and play a key role in its integration and further development.
Michael Scheibner, CEO of GK Software, comments: “We founded Deutsche Fiskal six years ago to help our customers and other large retailers in particular to meet the challenges of fiscalization in Germany. Deutsche Fiskal has done a great job in doing so and has developed a technologically leading cloud solution that has set new standards in terms of performance and transaction volumes. We would like to express our particular thanks to Matthias Robeck, who has made a decisive impact on Deutsche Fiskal with his expertise and entrepreneurial skills, and to the entire team for their extraordinary achievements. I am firmly convinced that Deutsche Fiskal will continue to be an excellent partner for GK under the new ownership."
Matthias Robeck, Managing Director of Deutsche Fiskal: ”I am delighted that Deutsche Fiskal is now expanding and strengthening the fiskalys solution portfolio after six very successful years. With a small but effective team and the support of GK, we have created a highly profitable SaaS solution for fiscalization. Now it's time to take the next step and ensure that cloud solutions for fiscalization play an even more important role in Germany and Europe.”
Johannes Ferner, CEO of fiskaly, comments: “The acquisition of Deutsche Fiskal by fiskaly is an important step in the further development of cloud-based fiscalization solutions in Germany. Together, we will drive digitalization in this area and offer our customers a secure and flexible solution that will be even more powerful in the future. Our clear goal is to combine the advantages of cloud-based fiscalization with comprehensive compliance and efficiency. In addition, Deutsche Fiskal's customers will also benefit from fiskaly's international experience in the future. We started in Austria and have recently expanded into Spain and Italy. We are also working on a solution that enables fiscalization in other European countries via a simple interface."
